Obituary for Frank W. Critchelow
Frank W. Critchelow, 82, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in his residence.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 29, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 9:00 – 11:00 AM, prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL.
Frank was born December 22, 1940, in Mattoon, IL, the son of Walter and Ella (Scaggs) Critchelow. He married Carolyn Largent on April 26, 1963 and she preceded him in death on December 8, 2008. Frank later married Flora Helen Keel from Huntsville, AL on January 5, 2017.
Frank drove a semi for many years, worked at Midwest Truck Body, then retired from Whitmore Township Road District.
Frank is survived by his wife, Flora Helen Keel of Huntsville, AL; children: Brian (Crystal) Critchelow of Sullivan, Marlene (Andrew) Mercurio of Clifton Park, NY, Rodney (Jaime) Critchelow of Holly Ridge, NC; grandchildren: Nicole Mercurio, Sean Mercurio, Riley Critchelow, Bryant Critchelow; stepsons: Billy Bennett of Huntsville, AL, and Steven C. Bennett of Hazel Green, AL; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; sisters: Wanda Metcalf, Virgina McGuffin (Farrell), Margie Oliver, and Tootsie; sister-in-law, Wanda Summers (Chris Krycun) of Madison, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn, brothers: Sam, Tom, Junior, and James Critchelow, sisters: Ida Mae, Mary, Ruth and Patty.
