Obituary for Paulette Nelson (Nelson)
Paulette E. Nelson, 70, of Decatur, IL, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.
The family will greet friends and family from 3 to 4 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Decatur. Inurnment will be at a later date in Kentucky.
Memorials may be made in Paulette’s honor to: Wounded Warrior Project or Northeast Community Fund.
Paulette was born May 26, 1952 in Tampa, FL, the daughter of Paul and Helen (Haney) Nelson. She was raised in Louisville, KY, but lived most of her adult life in Florida. Paulette married Allen Bork on July 23, 1997 in Decatur, IL and West Palm Beach, FL. He survives.
Paulette was a member of Heartland Community Church in Decatur, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Worth, FL, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur. She worked as a CNA and was a medical transcriptionist. Paulette was an avid artist, and was very talented in drawing and pottery. She thoroughly enjoyed walking the Florida Beaches.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Allen; children, Ben (Angel) Woods of Louisville, KY, Tara (Kevin Wade) Woods of Louisville, KY, Andy (Alex) Bork of Germany, Cara (Billy) England of Sullivan, IL;
11 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Greg Nelson, Wayne Nelson, and Avery Deal.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Nelson, mother, Helen Holkema, stepmother, Pauline Nelson, and sister, Brenda Cortie.
