Velva Leora Burkett (Patterson) arrived at her final Heavenly destination, with Jesus and other loved ones on February 25, 2023 at 2:29 am at St Mary's hospital with family by her side. Velva was the one and only daughter of Jesse James and Vera Eldora (Dodd) Patterson, who proceeded her in death. She married Melvin Henry Burkett on June 28, 1936, who preceded her in death in 2000 (age 87).
Velva will continue her painting now with perfect eye sight and catch up with her loved ones and friends. While on Earth, Velva loved everyone she met and brought many souls to Jesus. She was definitely sunshine on a cloudy day. She was so humble and had no idea the magnitude of people she had touched.
Velva leaves behind three of her children : Donna Burkett-Tipton(Bob), Linda Tempel, Ardy Burkett, daughter-in-Law, Janet Burkett. Grandchildren; Lenn Dorene Thomas(Brad), Denise Smith, Dana Coventry (Kevin), Tim Burkett (Stacy),Jennifer Burkett, Nicole LaGuardia(James), Darla Donaldson, Robin Hott, Troy Donaldson, Kimberly Neaz (Mohammad), Crystal Tempel, Tina Brown(Shane), Heather Burkett. Many many great-grandchildren. Several great-great grandchildren.
